THE BODY – 60h Assisting & Anatomy

Elevate your teaching skills with our 60-hour certification course, ‘The Body,’ a key jam of our 300-hour advanced training. Designed for yoga teachers or students with a minimum of 200 hours of training, this module empowers you with essential knowledge in assisting techniques, anatomy, and biomechanics.

”The Body” module offers a clear pathway to overcome uncertainties and build a strong foundation in movement. Tailored for yoga teachers seeking confidence in hands-on assisting and a deeper understanding of biomechanics, this training delivers practical tools for growth.

Upon completion, you’ll earn a 60-hour certificate in Assisting, Anatomy, and Biomechanics, setting you apart in the ever-evolving field of yoga teaching.

Prepare for a 5-day immersive experience that goes far beyond routine. This training delves into the practical world of Vinyasa Krama Yoga, combining hands-on learning with fresh insights into anatomy in motion. You’ll work through a variety of yoga poses, from foundational to advanced.

For yoga teachers, knowledge is just the starting point. The goal is to create empowering and meaningful journeys for your students. This course offers a deep dive into asana alignment and assists, alongside a clear framework for developing as a skilled and confident guide in the art of yoga.

HERE’S WHAT’S ON THE SCHEDULE

  • Practice practice practice: Classes inspired by goddesses Kali and Tara to help you embody asanas through your own practice.
  • Anatomy: A deep dive into biomechanics with Petra Kalla, focusing on the pelvis, spine, and muscle mechanics.
  • Asana Lab: Break down poses to uncover their secrets, master the 3 planes of movement, and link poses seamlessly.
  • Assisting: Hone your hands-on skills with transitions, inversions, props, and restorative poses.
  • Philosophy: Explore the Mahavidyas, the 10 wisdom goddesses in Tantric philosophy, and uncover your dharma in inspiring ways.

Josephin Westerlund – Lead teacher

Josephin is one of the founders of Yoga Folks and has been teaching classes, workshops and facilitating trainings for the past few years in Stockholm and London.

With a dedication of giving her students the best experience possibly she teaches with a large dose of knowledge and humor.

Josephin has over 1500 hours of training (Vinyasa Krama, Bhakti Yoga, Restorative yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, PT, Hands on assist, Sequencing, Yin yoga, Women’s therapy and Yoga Nidra) and 9 years of facilitating/teaching.

Petra Kalla – Anatomy teacher

Petra Kalla was one of the first internationally certified yoga therapists in Sweden since 2016. In her role as a physiotherapist she works in a chronic pain clinic, has a masters degree in pain care and is doing her specialist training in mental health.

She is also part of the faculty teaching physiotherapy for mental health at Karolinska Institute. She has a broad teaching experience; from clinic work, one-on-one therapy sessions, group therapy classes to regular yoga teaching and retreats and she has been faculty and head of school on quite a few different yoga teacher and therapy trainings.

She has always been a curious soul, in love with learning and seeking ways to contribute something meaningful to the world.
