…even if you don’t think you are.
You don’t need to stand on your head, own a singing bowl, or live off green juice to join a yoga teacher training.
What do you need? A willingness to explore yourself through the lens of yoga. That’s it. This is what makes you ready for our yoga teacher training.
If you’re wondering whether you’re “ready” for a teacher training, this is your invitation to stop thinking in terms of worthiness or flexibility and start tuning into what’s quietly calling you.
Still not sure? Here are 5 signs you’re ready for Yoga Teacher Training, and they might not be what you expect.
5 Signs: Ready for Yoga Training
1. You want to go deeper than just the poses
Maybe you’ve practiced for a while. You enjoy exploring poses, but now something inside you wants more, like, what’s behind all of this?
If you’re starting to wonder about the roots of yoga, the philosophy, the breath, the energy, that’s the beginning of going beyond the mat.
And by the way, headstands are nice, sure. But they don’t make anyone a yogi. That’s not what we value. In fact, we go through headstands in the last module, and only a small percentage of our trainees actually do one. No big deal.
2. You’re craving a more honest understanding of yoga
We’ve all seen the image of “the yoga person”: bendy, drinking something green in a kaftan. But that’s not yoga, it’s marketing.
If you feel ready to drop the performance, debunk the myths, and get to the heart of the practice, you’re in the right place. We don’t care if you can flip upside down. We care if you can be kind to the bus driver.
Our training centers around the 8 limbs of yoga, not just asana. We explore what it means to be a yogi in real life, not just in leggings.
3. You want to share your love for yoga, even if you don’t plan to teach
You don’t need to aim for teaching classes. Maybe you just love how yoga makes you feel. Maybe you catch yourself talking about breathwork to your stressed-out friend.
That spark you feel when something resonates deeply, that’s a teaching energy, even if it never turns into a class.
4. You’re ready to invest in something that’s just for you
Life gets busy. We take care of others. We show up. But what if this time, you gave yourself space to grow? Yoga teacher training is a deep-dive into YOU. Your mind, your breath, your beliefs, your body, your potential. This is the kind of journey you don’t take often, but once you do, it changes things.
5. You feel a yes… even if your mind says “not ready”
Most of our trainees feel like beginners. One person might be strong in physical practice, but totally new to breathing. Another may be into meditation but never heard about subtle energy and yoga philosophy. A third one is just new to everything but very curious and open.
All of you are equally welcome.
You don’t need to look a certain way or believe a certain thing. You don’t need to be vegetarian, spiritual, or flexible. You just need a pull toward learning about yourself. What to consider when choosing a Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Folks.
Final word:
What makes a yogi is not only how they move, it’s also how they live. If some of these 5 signs you’re ready for Yoga Teacher Training resonated with you, and if you’re open, curious, and willing to explore yourself with honesty, you’re already halfway there.
Our next 250HR Yoga Teacher Training starts this September. If you’re ready to step into something deeper, we’d love to walk beside you
