A Mother Blessing is a baby shower with the presents swapped for presence. No games, no gift bags – just the mum-to-be and the people who’ll hold her, gathered in one warm room before everything changes.
Bring your favourite humans to our studio on Södermalm, Stockholm. We’ll hold the space, the tea and the tissues.
We start by resting together. Bolsters, blankets, low light – 30 minutes where nobody has to do or be anything. No experience needed, nothing to perform.
Then we gather close around her and lay our hands on her. Some whisper a wish, some say nothing at all. It’s a simple thing that tends to undo everyone in the best way.
From there we move into the ceremony itself: a few rituals for her to carry into the birth room, and a round where everyone gets to say out loud what they see in her. We’ll keep the details to ourselves – a little surprise is part of it. She leaves with something to hold on to on the day, and something to open in the weeks after.
Of course, it’s your day and her day. Tell us what you’re dreaming of, bring a ritual from your own family, or ask us to keep it very simple. We shape it with you.
A Mother Blessing works beautifully as the heart of a longer day of spoiling her. Start here with the ceremony, then head off for lunch, a swim, a walk or whatever she loves most.
Some groups add a treatment at the studio before or after, just ask and we’ll help you put it together.
