Work with us
We care deeply about what happens in our shalas. Our teachers are a huge part of Yoga Folks, and keeping a high level of teaching across our schedule is something we take pretty damn seriously. We get a lot of requests from teachers wanting to join us — which means we have the luxury of being a little picky.
The basics
To teach regular yoga classes at Yoga Folks, we ask that you have:
500+ hours of yoga teacher training
Ideally a foundational 200/250-hour training followed by a 300-hour advanced training.
At least 2 years of teaching experience
A solid education and understanding of hands-on assists. We love hands-on assists and use them throughout many of our classes, always with consent, of course.
And perhaps most importantly
Depth in your practice, curiosity, and a genuine love for teaching yoga.
Why 500 hours?
We don’t see a foundational teacher training as the end of the road. It’s the beginning.
As a school offering both foundational and advanced yoga teacher trainings ourselves, continued education is a big part of how we approach yoga and teaching. We’re very involved in the studio, have a strong vision for what we want Yoga Folks to be, and care deeply about the quality and integrity of the practices we offer.
Naturally, many of the teachers joining our schedule have studied with us along the way. It’s definitely not a requirement, but sharing a similar approach to yoga, teaching and continued learning matters big time to us.
Sounds like your kinda place?
Send us an email at hello@yogafolks.se with:
- Your CV
- A list of your yoga teacher trainings and continued education
- A recording of a class you’ve taught, so we can get a feel for your teaching, voice and overall vibe
- Someone we can call and ask about you, a reference you’ve previously worked with
If it feels like a match and we have space on the schedule, we’ll be in touch.
