Navarātri – 9 Nights of the Goddess

Nine nights to explore the many expressions of Śakti through story, devotion, meditation and embodied practice.

Navarātri, the “Nine Nights of the Goddess,” is one of the most sacred and beloved festivals of the Divine Feminine. This is an online course, where you for 10 days commit your time and energy on meditation, reflection and your inner powers, described through the lens of the Goddess. First and last session is taught live online, the daily meditations are pre-recorded so that you can choose your time to practice that fits your day. These opening and closing sessions will also be recorded and shared.

For nine nights and ten days, devotees across India honor Devī in her many manifestations. Navarātri is a portal into sacred time—a chance to step out of our ordinary rhythms and enter a different kind of space: one of story, devotion, practice, contemplation and remembrance.
This year, rather than working with the Navadurgā—the nine traditional forms of Durgā associated with Navarātri—we will explore the Aṣṭamātṛkās, the Eight Mothers.
The Mātṛkās are a fascinating and much older layer of Śākta mythology. They are understood as powerful feminine manifestations, or Śaktis, associated with the great devas. In the text Devī Māhātmya, they arise to join Devī in her battle against the asuras. Later traditions develop them into a powerful group of goddesses in their own right.
Across our nine nights, we will journey through these eight Mothers, meeting each one as a particular expression of Śakti and exploring the qualities, stories and powers she invites us to experience within ourselves.
Rather than trying to reduce the goddesses to fixed archetypes, we will use them as doorways for contemplation. What happens when we sit with the energy of creation? Of courage? Of preservation, fierce protection, transformation, depth, sovereignty or radical release? What might these qualities reveal when we encounter them not only as ideas, but through the body, breath, meditation and our own lives?
And because there are eight Mātṛkās and nine nights, our final night will be something a little different: a space for integration. A chance to gather what we have encountered, sit with Devī as the whole of Śakti, and explore what these many expressions have awakened in us.
Through teachings, reflection, mantra, meditation, journaling and embodied practice, we will explore the Mātṛkās as living expressions of Śakti.
The stories of the Goddess are not merely ancient mythology. They can become mirrors, maps and invitations—showing us different ways of meeting ourselves and the world. Each goddess offers a different doorway into practice, and each night gives us an opportunity to become a little more intimate with the forces that shape our inner and outer lives.
Navarātri is a time to soften, listen and receive. To be nourished by devotion, strengthened by practice and reminded that the sacred is not somewhere far away—it is already moving through us.
Whether you are completely new to Goddess traditions or have been walking this path for years, these nine nights are an invitation to deepen your relationship with Devī, explore the many faces of Śakti and make space for the Goddess to meet you exactly where you are.
May these nine nights open the heart, awaken inner strength and reveal something of the Śakti that is already alive within you.
